A very attractive pair of hand-painted floral and cobalt Coalport dessert plates in pattern 4/412, dating from 1839-45, and decorated by Stephen Lawrence. 

Lawrence is considered to be one of the finest flower painters at Coalport during this era, working for the company from 1820-45.

This pattern is illustrated and discussed in Geoffrey Godden's “Coalport and Coalbrookdale Porcelains”, as well as Michael Messanger's “Coalport 1795-1926".
