A handsome pair of Old Sheffield Plate cobalt-lined salt cellars by Matthew Boulton, circa 1820. Replated.
They each bear a crest depicting a hand with quill and the motto “Favente Deo Supero” (By God's favour, I conquer), which belongs to the Clan Mitchell.
They measure approximately 4" in length and 3" in depth.
